Le traitement des lymphoedèmes est dominé par la physiothérapie. Le drainage manuel, décrié parfois à tort, est très utile lorsque la technique est adaptée aux preuves de son efficacité. Comme les bandages de décongestion et la pressothérapie pneumatique, il permet une mobilisation des protéines qui sont au coeur de la prise en charge des lymphoedèmes.
Les résultats cliniques sont objectifs. Leur maintien reste le problème majeur de cette maladie définitive. Il ne peut passer que par une éducation thérapeutique.

The treatment of lymphedema is dominated by physiotherapy. Manual drainage, sometimes wrongly described, is very useful when the technique is adapted to evidence of its effectiveness. Like decongestion bandages and pneumatic pressotherapy, it allows a mobilization of the proteins that are at the heart of the management of lymphedema.
The clinical results are objective. Their maintenance remains the major problem of this definitive disease. And this therapeutic education is required.
