This article explores medical grossophobia, a frequent form of discrimination that impacts on the quality of care provided, worsening patients' state of health and their access to care. It introduces how the main stereotypes associated with weight and overweight people can lead to clinical bias and stigmatising attitudes.
It then develops the specificities of physiotherapy and introduces some relational and clinical strategies to enable more inclusive and adapted practice for these patients.
