REPRESENTATIONS OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IN PHYSIOTHERAPY CARE IN GERIATRIC INSTITUTIONS
Whereas physical activity takes a significant place in masso-physiotherapical care, physiotherapists and elderly people disagree about this notion. The results of an inductive scoping study on social images attached to physical activity according to eight pairs (physiotherapists/patients) of a geriatric hospital, showed the evolution of this idea through treatment.
First incongruent, they finally converged towards the sport-health's conception, held by physiotherapists. Therefore, this apprehension lies on the different actors' statutes and the social representation of the ageing process.
