Notre rééducation est réalisée en 2 temps : une première phase individuelle et une seconde phase collective, en associant un pair partenaire à chaque patient.
THE PEER PARTNER PATIENT:
a means of improving the empowerment of patients for physiotherapists in private practice (part 1)
Neurological rehabilitation frequently involves collective treatments in order to provide the recommended long-term rehabilitation but also to improve motivation between patients. In our neurorehabiliation groups in private practice, we seek to improve patient independence by promoting patient education and peer support through a patient/physiotherapist/peer patient triad. Our approach is based upon the Montreal model of patient partnership, patient competency frameworks, and the concept of empowerment. Our rehabilitation is conducted in 2 stages: the first being individual, and the second a collective treatment phase where each patient is associated with a peer partner.
