TONGUE, VENTILATION, DYSFUNCTION. FROM DIAGNOSIS TO REHABILITATION:
What are the stakes?
Screening for orofacial dyspraxia is shared between the orthodontist and physiotherapist. The diagnosis of functional abnormalities must be early to avoid them to staying and causing growth abnormalities.
After conducting a review of the tongue and lip resting posture and a functional review of phonation, swallowing, ventilation and abnormalities, the therapist seeks to establish a physiological pattern to avoid or minimize a dysmorpho-functional cascade developping.
